Raimund Erbel is Director of the Department of Cardiology at the West German Heart Center, Essen, a position he has held since 1993. He is principal investigator of the Heinz Nixdorf Recall Study, as well as of numerous other projects in all fields of cardiology. His publications include more than 800 papers in cardiovascular imaging and preventative and interventional cardiology. Prof Erbel graduated from Düsseldorf Medical School in 1973.
